Will I Am performance followed by appeal to text messagers at DNC at Mile High
August 28, 2008 —
DENVER — Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas performed a version of his song, “Yes I am,” inspired by the speeches of Barack Obama at the Denver Convention tonight at Mile High Stadium. He was joined on stage by John Legend and a chorus of brightly-dressed chorus members.
The song has been a theme for Obama supporters and fans of the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas since it was first released on YouTube earlier this year.
Legend also encouraged listeners to register to vote as the song came to a close.

The act was followed by the appearance of Ray Rivera, Colorado Director of Barack Obama for President. He lauded the text-message methods used by the campaign and encouraged supporters to text 62262 on their cell phones to make a star icon on the big screen grow in relation to the number of supporters signed up to aid the campaign.
Note: RealVail writer David O. Williams is inside Mile High Stadium providing reports of the action all night long for RealVail.com.
