August 25, 2009 — Take a rocking trip back to the 80’s with Vail Valley friends and bid a festive farewell to summer. Rick Springfield will fire up the 80’s theme on the main stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. Cocktails and party buses will be offered throughout the evening.
The evening, sponsored by VPAC, Westin and VailPM, will also carry the 80’s theme all the way through the Springfield performance, with pre-show offers at the Westin River front beginning at 5 p.m., including free valet parking, 80’s pricing on food and drink in the lobby and a two-course $20 menu at Restaurant Avondale beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are required for Avondale at (970) 790-5500.
Complimentary transportation will be provided from the Westin to the bottom of Beaver Creek by the Turtle Party Bus at 7 p.m. Vilar Performing Art Center will also host an 80’s Costume Contest, along with drink specials in the venue’s lobby at 7:15 p.m.
Rick Springfield takes the stage at 8 p.m. playing all the hits, including the Grammy-winning “Jessie’s Girl,” “I’ve Done Everything For You,” “Human Touch,” “Affair Of The Heart” and “Love Somebody.”
The Turtle Party Bus will also be available following the show for a return trip to Restaurant Avondale for more specials, as well as DJ Mo:Rockin – spinning tunes from all eras. DJ is courtesy of VailPm.
The Westin Riverfront Resort is offering special room deals for the evening for those who wish to stay at the party as long as possible. Take the elevator home for the evening by booking a $129 room at the Westin and get a two-for-one breakfast special Sunday morning with $5 Bloody Mary’s. Tickets for the Aug. 29 Rick Springfield show at the Vilar Performing Arts Center are priced at $88, $98 and $128. Tickets are available online 24 hours a day; the box office is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST, with additional hours on performance days.
